Summary

Jesus brings freedom from sin. He came to earth, died on a cross, and rose from the dead so we could be forgiven and live with him forever.

Introduction

When we are born, we are all born with a certain level of sin. We’ve all done things that we know God does not want us to do. The Bible calls this “original sin,” and it’s something that every human being has. But Jesus set us free from it!

Sin Keeps Us from God

Sin keeps us from God. It separates us from each other, and it separates us from ourselves. Sin is like a disease that spreads like a virus, taking over our lives until we are completely consumed by it. Sin is an addiction that takes over our minds and hearts, binding us with chains of guilt and shame until we can’t see the way out anymore.

Sin is also like prison: it keeps us locked away from freedom.

Jesus Brings Freedom from Sin

Jesus came to set us free from sin. Sin keeps us from God, but Jesus has paid the price for our sins and he wants us to know this. As a result of being set free from sin, you can expect to experience life in a way that you never have before!

How Do We Know Jesus Has Set Us Free?

Jesus brings freedom from guilt. We can be free from the guilt that comes when we break God’s law, which is something we all do (Romans 3:23). This was one of the main reasons Jesus died on the cross – to pay for our sins so that we don’t have to pay them ourselves (1 Corinthians 15:3). When you accept Christ into your heart and are born again, he takes away all those sins and takes them on himself instead so that they won’t keep you from entering heaven when it’s time for you to go there (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus brings freedom from fear. Since God knows exactly what will happen in every situation, there’s nothing left for us humans to worry about! Instead, let’s focus on living life joyfully in his presence (Psalm 16:11).

Jesus brings freedom from the power of sin. We can’t overcome our sin by ourselves, but Jesus has conquered it for us (Romans 6:1-7).

Jesus brings freedom from the penalty of sin. Because Jesus died for us and rose again, we don’t have to worry about dying because we’re already living with God forever! (Romans 6:9-11).

And Jesus brings freedom from being dominated by our old sinful nature as well as temptation that comes along with it (Romans 7:1-6; Galatians 5:16-26).

Jesus also gives us an amazing opportunity to serve him – in fact, this is one way we can show our gratitude for all he’s done for us!

Conclusion

Jesus is the only way to be set free from sin. He came to earth, died on a cross, and rose from the dead so that we could be forgiven of our sins and live with him in heaven forever. If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour yet, then I encourage you today: turn away from your sin by repenting (changing direction), and trust in him alone for salvation instead of trusting in yourself or anything else!
