Journeying Through Hopeless Situations

Life is not always a bed of roses. I am aware of a number of people in our church family and elsewhere who have travelled or are travelling through seemingly hopeless situations. It is natural to question at times if God has forgotten us or our troubles.

God Cannot Forget Us

But God’s Word is clear: he cannot forget us. He has a plan that we cannot always see. At just the right time, he answers our prayers.

In the Book of Exodus we find God’s people in slavery in Egypt. They had been so for hundreds of years. They must have prayed to God and called out to him thousands, probably millions of times, and heard nothing. God had made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that they were his chosen people. But now it seemed they were condemned to slavery and forced labour.

God is Working, Even When We Don’t See It

But God was working. He had raised up Moses who would become their great leader. At just the right time, God heard his people’s cries again and this time he acted. God moves at just the right time. Soon, Moses was leading his people and challenging Pharaoh before leading them out of Egypt and slavery altogether.
