Summary
Are you overwhelmed by email? Email templates can help us be more effective and productive. This is part six of an eight-part series on how to manage your email inbox.
The Email Template: How to Spend Less Time on Emails
Do you find yourself sending the same emails over and over again? For example, I often send emails to our Accounts Payable department attaching invoices to be paid. Or, I am often asked by members of the public where they can donate goods to The Salvation Army.
This is where you can save time. I have email templates for many of these kinds of emails.
You can create actual emails and save them in your Drafts folder or a specific folder for this purpose. Then you can either duplicate the email and send it when you need to, or in Outlook for example, you can simply “Resend” it.
Or like me, you can set them up as keyboard shortcuts/snippets (I use Alfred on my Macs and keyboard shortcuts on my Apple mobile devices) to populate an email as appropriate.
Email templates save me so much time!
Conclusion
I am passionate about leaders (especially spiritual leaders) being as productive and effective as possible. Your ministry will have all the more impact if you can deal with administration efficiently and effectively. So now you know how to implement emails templates, why not set up an email template yourself today? And follow along for seven more tips on how to manage your inbox.
