Summary

The stories of Jesus and storms are ones of hope, reassurance, and reliance on him as a source of strength and guidance in facing the challenges of life.

Introduction

When was the last time you felt you were in a life storm? Some of us are facing storms just now – financial storms, health storms, relationship storms.

Jesus and Storms

The idea of encountering Jesus in the storms of life and finding peace, strength, and courage in his presence is a common theme in Christian faith. This concept is derived from the biblical story of Jesus walking on water and calming the storm (Matthew 14:22-33). In this story, Jesus appears to the disciples during a storm while they are on a boat, and as they see him, their fear is replaced with awe and confidence.

Jesus Empowers Us to “Walk on Water”

When it comes to Jesus and storms, we often use the phrase “walking on water” metaphorically to represent the ability Jesus gives us to overcome challenges or difficult circumstances with the help of his power and guidance. By fixing our eyes on him, we focus our faith and trust in Jesus, allowing him to lead us through the storms of life.

Hope, Reassurance and Reliance on Jesus

The stories of Jesus and storms are ones of hope, reassurance, and reliance on him as a source of strength and guidance in facing the challenges of life. By holding on to our faith and fixing our eyes on him, we can find peace amidst the storms and courage to navigate through difficult times.
