God is Inviting You to Come Home

Read Romans 15:1-13. Will you be “driving home for Christmas this year”? Or are you opening your home to others who are coming home to spend time with their family and friends? Many people “come home” at Christmas. Others don’t want to, because for them, home is full of anger, violence, abuse, shame, resentment, or manipulation. God’s home is not like that. And he wants you to come home to him this Christmas. Jesus sent his Son Jesus Christ into the world, as a human being – as a weak, helpless baby – because he doesn’t love us from a distance. He makes his home with us. God invites you to make your home with the One who created you, who loves you, and sent his Son to die for you. God is ready to welcome you whenever you are ready to come home to him. All you have to do is accept the invitation. You can have a relationship with God simply by saying you want him to make his home in your heart. That really is the best Christmas present you could receive this year.
