Read Psalms 22:1-31. Who do you look to for rescue when you find yourself in a traumatic situation? Family? Friends? Neighbours?
When we are facing tragedy and difficult circumstances, our only sure help comes from a God whose concern for us goes way beyond our earthly existence. The psalmist remembers that God’s concern for us doesn’t begin on the day we are born and end on the day we die. It reaches back to the days before we were born and will reach ahead into eternity.
The psalmist recalls that God brought him safely from his mother’s womb, having loved and cared for him since the dawn of time. No one else could help him in his time of need.
God loves you. He has always loved you. And he will always love you. When you face trials and suffering ask him to come near to you. His loving concern will stay with you. He will be with you every step of the way, as you navigate your way through your difficult circumstances. You can trust him. You can find your hope for the future in him today.
