Be An Encourager: Summary

Be an encourager. Surround yourself with encouragers. And then cheer each other on to grow the same attitude that Jesus had.

Introduction

Who do you look like? Do people say to you that you look like your mum or dad or perhaps brother or sister?

Who are you like? If your corps or church is working the way that Jesus envisaged, then after a while you will begin to look like – or more accurately, be like – your corps or church friends, those you spend most time with.

How to be an Encourager

If that’s true then the best thing we can do is build relationships with them and build them up so that we’re all moving in the same direction, all becoming more like Jesus. It’s much easier to pull people down than it is to build them up, so we will need to be intentional about it.

Be An Encourager

Be an encourager. Surround yourself with encouragers. And then cheer each other on to grow the same attitude that Jesus had. Do whatever it takes to build those relationships. Be a builder not a demolisher!

Think It Over

Think about the following:

  • Who are your closest friends? Are they helping you become more like Jesus?
