Today’s Battle Drill Devotional: God Wants You to Live with a Clear Conscience

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Point out anything in me that offends you,
    and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalm 139:23-24)

Read Psalm 139:1-24. In the brilliant television comedy series, Yes, Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s Principal Private Secretary, Bernard, is in conversation with the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby about what he should put in some Committee Minutes. Sir Humphrey asks him what he wants. Bernard replies, “I want to have a clear conscience.” Sir Humphrey snaps back, “And when did you acquire this taste for luxury?”
